This One Disease Mothers Should be Wary About

Below, we list down the different facts that make heart disease a frightening ailment for men and women alike. But because this is for Mother’s Day, we would like to specifically address mothers. The following are facts on heart disease on women:

  • In the year 2013, heart disease is responsible for the death of one in every four females.
    Heart disease still takes the first place in the rank of the deadliest disease among females in the year 2013 here in the US alone. Moms, you should never take this for granted. Almost 300 thousand women died in 2013 alone due to the said illness.
  • Only 54% of women recognize that heart disease is their deadliest killer.
    This is mainly because this ailment has been thought to be a “man’s disease.” Heart disease does not favor gender. It affects both men and women alike. In fact, the mortality rate between the two is somewhat the same when it comes to cases of death due to their condition.
  • Because of coronary heart disease, 64% of women suddenly pass away.
    And the disturbing part is that these women show no symptoms of the disease. So just because you do not have any precursor that you have the disease, it does not mean you are free from it.

Signs and symptoms of the disease include:

      • Upper abdomen

    You can feel the pain once you are resting, starting or during a physical activity or when stressed and burned out.
